Cubs reportedly will be involved in Juan Soto trade sweepstakes

The Chicago Cubs are trying to make some moves this offseason.

According to 670 The Score's Bruce Levine, the Cubs will be involved in the trade sweepstakes for superstar outfielder Juan Soto.

Adding someone of his caliber would likely make the Northsiders the favorites in the National League Central division next season.

The 25-year-old is a three-time All-Star and has one season left with the Padres before he hits free agency.

He made $23 million in 2023 and is projected to make around $33 million since he is arbitration-eligible.

In six seasons, he has a .284 average with a .946 OPS. He was the runner-up in the National League MVP voting in 2021.

The Cubs have enough talent in the minor leagues to make a formidable offer to the Padres for Soto. Will Christopher Morel be included in the possible offer? Who knows, but it should be fascinating to watch it all unfold.
