The Chicago Cubs are trading Double-A pitchers Ryan Gallagher and Sam Armstrong to the Minnesota Twins for utility man Willi Castro on Thursday.

MLB insider Jon Heyman was the first to report the trade.

Castro can play multiple positions all around the diamond. He most likely will be PCA's backup in centerfield and get starts at third base. He can also hit lefties and is a switch-hitter.

He is hitting .245 with 10 home runs, nine stolen bases and 27 RBIs in 86 games this season. He has played 10+ games at four different positions for the Twins this season.

Look for veteran Jon Berti to possibly be let go to make room for a roster spot after this trade.

Castro is making $6.4 million this season before hitting free agency.

This is the third trade that the Cubs have done in the last 24 hours as they have also acquired starter Michael Soroka and reliever Andrew Kittredge.

More to come on this breaking news story.
