The Chicago Cubs traded Eloy Jimenez, Dylan Cease and two other prospects to get lefty starter Jose Quintana from the crosstown White Sox on Thursday.
This season Quintana is 4-8 with a 4.49 ERA with 109 strikeouts in 104.1 innings pitched. In 2016, he was 13-12 with a 3.20 ERA in 32 starts and was named to the All-Star team. For his career, he is 50-54 with a 3.51 ERA in 172 major league appearances. Quintana is tied for sixth in the majors in quality starts since his first full season in 2013.
