CHICAGO – The Chicago Cubs today acquired right-handed pitcher Andrew Kittredge from the Baltimore Orioles for minor-league infielder Wilfri De La Cruz. The Cubs 40-man roster currently stands at 40 players.

Kittredge, 35, is 2-2 with a 3.45 ERA (12 ER/31.1 IP) in 31 games in relief for the Orioles this season after signing a one-year major league contract with the club in January. The right-handed pitcher made his season debut May 21 after missing the beginning of the season with a left knee injury. He began his campaign by allowing two runs in 9.2 IP (1.93 ERA) across his first 10 outings from May 21-June 15. Since June 30, Kittredge has held the opponent scoreless in 13 of his 15 outings, posting a 1.76 ERA (3 ER/15.1 IP) during the stretch. He is holding right-handed hitters to a .175 average (10-for-57) this season.

Kittredge has pitched in parts of nine seasons with Tampa Bay (2017-23), St. Louis (2024) and Baltimore (2025), going 25-14 with a 3.44 ERA (121 ER/316.2 IP) and 16 saves in 286 career games (15 starts). The righthander was named a 2021 A.L. All-Star, going 9-3 with a 1.88 ERA (15 ER/71.2 IP) and a career-high eight saves, becoming the eighth Tampa Bay reliever to make the All-Star team. His 1.88 ERA was the lowest among all A.L. pitchers (min. 70.0 IP). Prior to the All-Star break, the righthander posted a 1.47 ERA (7 ER/43.0 IP) in 32 appearances.

The six-foot one-inch, 230-pound Kittredge was originally signed by the Seattle Mariners as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Washington. The Spokane, Wash. native was traded to Tampa Bay in a five-player deal in November 2016 and from the Rays to St. Louis for infielder/outfielder Richie Palacios in January 2024.

De La Cruz, 17, is batting .262 (22-for-84) with nine doubles, two triples, nine RBI and nine stolen bases in the Dominican Summer League during his first professional season this year.
