The Chicago Cubs released an impressive recap video of rookies Christopher Morel and Brandon Hughes' performance in their MLB debuts in the 7-0 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday.
Video Description: Wrigley Field witnessed two unforgettable major league debuts on May 17, 2022. Pitcher Brandon Hughes made history by being the first pitcher in the modern era to get 5+ outs in his MLB debut with all of them coming via strikeout. Even more impressive, he converted from being an outfielder to a pitcher just three years ago. Christopher Morel, who was signed by the Cubs out of the Dominican Republic in 2015, hit a home run in his first major league at-bat. He is the first Cub to homer in his first major league at-bat since Willson Contreras on June 19, 2016.
