MESA -- The Chicago Cubs today activated left-handed pitcher Kyle Ryan from the COVID-19 Related Injured List. In a corresponding move, right-handed pitcher Robert Stock has been designated for assignment.

Ryan, 29, is 13-8 with one save and a 3.87 ERA (88 ER/204.2 IP) in 177 games (seven starts) with the Tigers (2014-17) and Cubs (2019-20). Ryan is 5-2 with a 3.87 ERA (33 ER/76.2 IP), one save and 18 holds in 91 relief appearances for Chicago after joining the organization in January of 2018.

Ryan last year was 1-0 with four holds, one save and a 5.17 ERA (9 ER/15.2 IP) in 18 relief appearances for Chicago. He stranded six of nine inherited runners, retired 13 of 18 first batters faced and held opponents scoreless in 13 of his outings. He limited left-handed hitters to a .240 average (6-for-25).

Stock, 31, was claimed off waivers from Boston on December 2 of last year. He is 2-2 with four holds and a 4.24 ERA (30 ER/63.2 IP) in 52 career relief appearances between the Padres (2018-19) and Red Sox (2020).
