CHICAGO — A nail biter of a ninth inning ended with the Chicago Cubs being able to breathe a sigh of relief on Tuesday, as third baseman Kris Bryant saved his squad with a great defensive play. The Cubs gave up two runs in the top of the ninth but hung on for a 5-4 win versus the Kansas City Royals.

With a runner on third and two outs, Bryant gloved a rocket hit by the Royals' Bubba Starling. Bryant went to the ground in order to make the stop and, upon rising to his feet, fired a perfect throw to first baseman Anthony Rizzo, putting a bow on the victory at Wrigley Field.
